Outstanding Service Award

The student applications will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Service project clearly addresses one of the Critical Issue Areas.
  2. Service project has improved the lives of people in the community served.
  3. Student or Project Team has demonstrated leadership in the service project or critical issue area
  4. Student or Project Team has collaborated with student service leaders in other higher education disciplines and a public or private community partner.
  5. Student or Project Team has demonstrated the personal impact project has had on own life, and has vested considerable time and energy into project.
  6. At least one letter of recommendation from a public or private community partner, or college/university clearly describing the leadership and commitment exhibited in service project.
  7. The photos, videos, and other materials submitted are innovative and of quality production and accurately reflect the service project and the student’s involvement in the project.

Social Entrepreneur Award

The student project team applications will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Project proposal must clearly address at least one of the Critical Issue Areas.
  2. Proposal must submit evidenced-based strategies to address at least one critical issue area identified, a detailed plan for implementation of interventions, and outcomes.
  3. Project has outlined an assessment plan to measure, record, and report impact.
  4. Project has incorporated some type of student engagement as a component of their strategy.
  5. Project has demonstrated a commitment to partnering with at least one public or private community partner, and collaboration with their institution.
  6. At least one letter of recommendation from a public or private community partner, or college/university clearly describing the leadership and commitment exhibited in service project.
  7. The photos, videos, and other materials submitted are innovative and of quality production and accurately reflect the service project and the student’s involvement in the project.
