My project seeks to pass a city ordinance, which will remove from job applications the check box that indicates an individuals criminal conviction record. By doing this, persons with criminal records will have a barrier to employment removed, as many are discarded from the selection pool solely on the basis of checking this box. Rather than being measured based on the totality of their qualifications.
